JOIN THE FIRST IN LINE LAUNCH CALL!

Join special guests Jessica Craven of Chop Wood Carry Water, Kate Barr of Can’t Win Victory Fund, and Jess Piper of Blue Missouri for a virtual event on Thursday, April 9 at 7pm central as we introduce Every State Blue’s newest initiative: First In Line.

In 2024, nearly 1 in 5 state legislative districts across the country had no Democratic candidate at all. Another 1 in 5 had a Democrat on the ballot – but running on a shoestring. State legislatures control healthcare access, reproductive rights, voting laws, education funding, and worker protections. They matter more to daily life than Congress does. When Democrats don’t contest those races, extremists fill them by default.

But it’s hard for potential candidates to decide to run if they don’t think they’ll have support. That’s why Every State Blue is proud to have raised and distributed over $1 million to Democratic state legislative nominees since 2017 – across three states (MO, OH, and TN). We fund the candidates that typically get left behind – rural districts, long-shot races, places where showing up is itself a statement. Ohio Democratic leadership called us a “game-changer” for rural Democrats.

First in Line takes that work to every state. Because these are the races that are typically last in line for resources.
