How Every State Blue Works

Think of us as crowdfunders and community builders.

We make it easy for you to join a community of thousands to crowdsource democracy – supporting nominees for a few dollars a month (which, these days, is less than you might spend on a fancy cup of coffee). Our Blue State Projects (Blue MO, Blue OH, and Blue TN) are monthly programs that you can set and forget, knowing that you’re doing your part – no matter what else you have going on.

First In Line is different. Our 2026 national initiative expands our mission to support Democrats running in the hardest-to-reach districts across the country – before the primary, in every state with legislative elections this cycle.



ESB's Bottom-Up Bathtub Model

ESB's Blue State Projects fund the races that are usually left behind using our unique "bottom-up bathtub" model. After the Democratic primary, we use campaign finance filings to determine what nominees have the fewest resources. Then we distribute community funds first to those nominees who have raised the least – raising everyone's "water level" and making sure that every nominee has a base level of support.


